FEELS SO RIGHT
FOUR LIONS
It might not necessarily be a coincidence that Bendigo rockers Four Lions’ new single, Feels So Right, is redolent of classic-era The E Street Band.
Frontman Shann Lions says one of his musical heroes, Bruce Springsteen, may have inadvertently inspired the band’s latest single, the second from its forthcoming album Wide Awake.
“I wrote Feels So Right sitting at my kitchen table, trying to relearn one of our older songs,” says Lions. “I had been bingeing on Born To Run and trying to decipher it two-fold, its songwriting and production.”
Feels So Right is a propulsive slice of guitar-driven power-pop, featuring keys man Stephen Briggs’ sparkling piano and accentuated by guest saxophonist Harry Godfrey.
Briggs and Godfrey channel the spirit of E-Streeters Roy Bittan and Clarence Clemons, respectively, while putting their own musical stamp on it.
lyrics
Lyrics And Music Written By Shann Lions (Control)
Flowers I gave you might as well been dead, think I don’t listen to what is said
Recurring dream our plane crashes overhead
Waking up beside you is heaven scent
And it feels so right, our life sentence, if no love is the crime
And it feels so right, not into games, won’t roll the dice
New scars under our fallen sky
Stainless fears through these hollow eyes
And it feels so right, our life sentence, if no love is the crime
And it feels so right, not into games, won’t roll the dice
I’m sorry I lost us, should have grabbed your hand I was rudderless
In the front seat I can’t listen, it’s a shame about ray, more a shame about us
And it feels so right, our life sentence, if no love is the crime
And it feels so right, not into games, won’t roll the dice
And feels so right and it feels so right
And it feels so right, and it feels so right
